Live: Microgrant Guide ($100k+ raised)
Merge is a club for microgrant recipients working on big ideas.
We’ve been keeping ourselves very busy ahead of the holidays. We launched two things this week, both of which I believe might be very useful to you.
Grantsmith Experiment: Toby Brown gives $1k to Open Source Projects
This week we’re teaming up with extraordinarily talented designer and engineer, Toby Brown, to allocate microgrant(s) to builders of cool open-source projects.

This is an experiment we want to continue with people who want to improve the Merge ecosystem while judging grant applications in fields they’re experts in. How cool to be backed by someone who’s done great work in your field?
If you’re building something cool that’s open-source, or know someone who is, find the application form here. We’d love to see your application! Send them in before Sunday.
Microgrant Guide: The best place on the internet to discover and apply to Microgrants and Fellowships
Tons of people want to fund your ambitious ideas, you just need to know where to find them.
The Microgrant Guide has video reviews, successful application examples, interview breakdowns — all the context you might be interested in from application to acceptance.
The guide is collaborative! Grantees and fellows of listed programs contribute short video reviews sharing their experience applying, interviewing, and receiving support. Giving first-time applicants a leg up by being able to learn directly from recipients is a hearing directly from recipients is a huge win.
If you’d like to contribute a review, watch this guide and reply to this email to have it added.
We’re excited to keep shipping into the new year and look forward to updating you soon on our latest grantees!
